Each year the San Francisco DeYoung Museum holds an event that makes me want to go home, cut a pile of leaves and flowers from the yard, and go arrange them. Local florists choose various works of art throughout the museum and then recreate the pieces in some of the most massive, exquisite flower arrangements you’ve ever seen. (I’m sure I’ve never seen so many orchids in one place before!) Its become a favorite, spring-ushering tradition to go over to the city with my mom, see the exhibit and enjoy lunch in the museum cafe, always one of my favorite places to eat.
