Cool things in 2-d

A few ideas that are particularly interesting:

Cuckoo clock by Right on the WallsWhat  clever idea to mount clock hands onto the wall over a silhouette of a clock. I’d love to create my own design for a decal using an outline of my grandma’s heirloom clock.

Pictures from cameraist jasonepowell

These are a combination of images he’s taken from the Library of Congress, held in front of the actual scene today. They mainly seem to be from Washington DC and the East Coast. I guess there’s more history there than anywhere else in this country! This is such an interesting idea for a photography series.

And Finally, because I know Hubbs will love this and because I love the graphics as well, Flight Through Intruments

Love the stylized illustrations of the men! And what a helpful way to show power and inertia. It totally makes sense to me now.

Seriously, whoever said that textbooks and instructional materials had to be boring and sterile! I guess they knew better in the 40’s. I’m keeping this in mind the next time I design something that I  assume has to be a little dry..
